Welcome.
Congratulations! You’ve successfully crossed into the World of The Guardians (WOTG) <clever, clever>. This is akin to stepping into a parallel dimension but fortunately without any alternate dimension side effects. You’ve gone through all the trouble, now get the reward! If the notion of a hovboard inspires your imagination, then The Guardians was written with you in mind!
What is WOTG?
The World of The Guardians is a world much like our own, except that it has been developed much smarter thanks to a group of human watchdogs called, you guessed it, The Guardians. Because of their influence, the WOTG is one built by man, albeit with far less detrimental impact to our surroundings. In essence, mankind is ecologically more intelligent. Practically this looks like a world built to harness natural resources to power it’s machines. Of course, there still cars, indoor plumbing and event computing technology. It’s just that all of this is fueled by solar, kinetic (wind, water, etc.) and physical (magnetism for instance) energy sources.
In the WOTG, it’s always been this way not because we the people are necessarily any brighter but because the Guardians would smite us from the earth otherwise. It’s pretty good incentive, wouldn’t you agree?
WHAT IF you were told the next time you didn’t recycle, you’d be locked in a hole 10 meters deep for the rest of your life? Sure, maybe you’d be indignant–you’re human after all. But then you’d disappear. So would everyone like you. And the one’s with better sense would be left to treat the world smarter. And there you have it: the WOTG.
What is New Wave Entity and Where’s my Hovboard?
An Entity in the WOTG is a lot like a Corporation in our world. Thanks (no moral judgment implied either way) to the Guardians, capitalism and most other soci
o-economic systems we’re familiar with here never gained huge followings. There are as many reasons for this as there are decisions made by a single person.
It just so happens that by the time we’re introduced to the WOTG, Entities themselves are a new concepts and society isn’t so sure what to make of their existence. At any rate, New Wave grows rapidly, looking like a more sustainable incarnation of General Electric. Hovboards are one of the many products they manufacture.
As you can see from the New Wave Corporate site, the principles that make Hovboards work are quite sound. Read The Guardians to learn more about how they work and who knows–maybe we’ll finally get around to making them a reality. 25 years after Michael J. Fox cruised across the silver screen and we’re STILL waiting–I mean–REALLY!
